Blue Haven Pools implement a time-proven process that has resulted in superior pool design and installation for over 40 years. Our refined process sees to it that every project is completed within the set timeframe and to budget.
Blue Haven begins with an initial consultation so that we can determine your ideal pool outcome. We are extremely passionate about delivering functional pool designs that suit YOUR home, YOUR backyard and YOUR needs.
We have over 20 aboveground pool & 30 fibreglass pool designs and sizes to choose from. This is accompanied by an eye for design as we offer countless concrete pool options to customers. Choose from over 60 template designs or custom design the right pool for your purpose. We determine what you want to see in your ideal pool before moving forward with any construction activites.
At the beginning of the process a building contract is prepared and signed with a design fee payable. The design fee covers all the details architectural drawings to suit your block, engineer specifications and pre-construction planning.
Home owners warranty is also applied for at this stage.
Week 2 – 3
At the drafting phase, Blue Haven provide detailed architectural drawings of the proposed pool installment. We are careful to make sure that the proposal put forward takes into consideration all of the client’s preferences and design choices so that they are reflected in the end product.
As the architectural drawings are prepared, a 149 certificate (zoning certificate) and a Sydney Water diagram should be provided for a Complying Development Certificate (CDC) compliance assessment.
Blue Haven also uses the drafting phase to develop our internal construction planning for the commencement of works. This way we ensure the entire process runs as smoothly as possible.
Week 2 – 4
At Blue Haven we see to it that all the necessary documents and forms are sent to the correct Government bodies for approval. We prepare and lodge all the applications necessary for the approval of your pool so that you can be swimming in your new pool as soon as possible.
If you already have approval in place, we will provide you with our engineer’s specifications so that the project can be stamped off by your certifier.
Week 5 – 14
The first thing done soon as we get on site is prepare it for the construction process. If your block is vacant, it will need surveyor pegs and planning to map out the accurate height and position of the pool design. Existing structures provide a natural datum point which ensures accurate RL’s.
During the construction phase, Blue Haven aim to keep the disturbance level at a minimum. We implement your selected design, colours and finishes using approved materials and methods. All of this is governed by strict Australian pool construction standards.
Excavation takes place first, preparing the site for either a fibreglass or concrete inground pool. Excavation isn’t necessary for aboveground pools. This is followed by formwork, steel fixings and required plumbing which leads into the pouring of concrete.
After the concrete is cured we then proceed with the laying of coping, tiling, plumbing lines and equipment installation. The electrical and gas lines will have to be run before finishing the pool surrounds.
The final weeks involve paving the surrounds, installation of heating equipment, fencing, lighting and the interior lining. These final features bring pools into the 21st century, making sure they are modern and comply with all the essential pool requirements.
Once completed the final handover of the project to new owner takes place.
*The above timeframe is typical and may vary, subject to weather conditions, availability of materials, complexity of the project, site conditions and other unexpected delays.
