The Blue Haven Difference.
Our designs are about people so we prefer to let our work do the talking.
We have put together a range of project case studies, covering a selection of our pools and some of the challenges we encountered during installation, highlighting WHY it is so important to work with a company that has 50 years of experience in design and construction.
Well our clients certainly agree that design and construction experience matters so just have a look at these case studies to see how they got to swim in the pool of their dreams.

This swimming pool was designed to meet the upper level of the dwelling which has the best outlook on the Ocean. The pool was constructed out of ground and was a very tight access and difficult rock conditions. The height of the pool was made safe with an exterior glass fence around the perimeter.
There were many obstacles to overcome. The access; the rock and piering, the close proximity to the house. The project met all the required functionality and looks fantastic.
This waterfront lap pool was built on a complex sloping block built in rock and on a water table. This pool had to be built with a support beam to hold the house slab for an extended alfresco area. It also acted as a retaining wall.
The plunge pool was designed to be built into the courtyard and was met with many construction challenges that ranged from extremely tight access to finding rocks during excavation. We were also building extremely close to an existing dwelling.

This stunning man made rock waterfall is a huge statement on this average property in Grasmere. The sound of the water echoes through the entertainment area and gives a real resort vibration at home. The feature wall also doubles up as a retaining wall for the sloping block.
Building over complex pipelines, Easements, Sloping block. The project was brought to life with the full length feature wall which dazzles in the sun which creates a radiance of shimmering tiles. The clients are loving this pool and has become a personality of the property.
To save on excavation costs, the plunge pool was constructed first. The shell was cast and our team waited until the residence was at lock up stage to finish the project. During construction, our team had to be extremely meticulous as we had to work around a high wall which was close to construction proximity.
The spa was designed to be a hot space but there was no natural gas to the property so we designed a small raised spa as a spillover feature that would easily heat with bottled gas. On both sides of the spa, we constructed ledges - one for champagne lounging and the other for jet therapy.
The excavation was a huge job requiring up to 6m deep site cut which had to be carefully cut in layers to avoid any major landslide. This allowed for a tiered design and features at almost every level of this backyard wonderland. An enormous retaining wall was required which was built as part of the pool design and covered later in made rock. The site cut was so large that we were even able to design the pool with a long slide. The level of expert construction on this project was paramount given the size of the pool and the enormity of the site.
The clients wanted to enhance their entertainment area by renovating their pool and install a new spa. The key was to make the both sit in harmony with each other.
The terrain and the slope made this site complex. The piering went down 24 metres in some places! The pool coping was cantilevered and the entire pool was fully formed with surrounding concrete areas. We finished the project with a wet edge tank which was ideal for the slope and the natural bush backdrop.
Pool and Spa design for a flat level block in Cronulla. Built in sand and designed to suit the adjoining alfresco. As the home didn't have any natural gas the pool and spa were designed separate so the gas bottles would work effectively on the spa alone.
Originally this pool was designed as full out of ground structure to avoid rock excavation with the small machinery. Due to neighbour privacy with the elevated structure and extensive decking proposed along with the cost of compliance to extend the boundary fencing structurally the pool was re-designed to nestle into the lower area. The pool was then completed with extended walkways and upturned wall acting as a retaining wall for the new sunken level.

The site was complicated due to flood zone and back wall barriers had to be created for two reasons; firstly it was designed to look impressive with two sloping sides rather than a straight lined boundary looking wall and secondly to become a suspended platform created for the customers teenagers to use the area as a diving platform. This area was also used to hide pool equipment under the suspended platform.
