Spa & Swim Spa Buyers Guide

October 3, 2016

HOW DO I CHOOSE THE RIGHT SPA / SPA DESIGN?

There are a couple of elements which should factor into your decision to buy a spa, but ultimately it comes down to your personal preferences and leisure needs. Are you looking for a hydrotherapeutic spa?

Blue Haven has a range of spas all with different amounts of hydro-jets which caress and relax the body. Or possibly you’re searching for a spa with multiple seats so the family can relax together.

Blue Haven has spas and swim spas with up to 6 seats. Whether the purpose of your spa is for fun, relaxation, exercise or something more, a consultation with Blue Haven will determine the right design for you.

HOW DO I KEEP THE WATER CLEAN AND CLEAR?

Keeping the water clean is a matter of staying on top of your spas health. Being diligent is the best protection against a dirty spa. Checking pH levels, cleaning your filters and sanitising will keep the water clean and crystal clear. Each Blue Haven spa is fitted with a sanitising and filtration system which works to keep your spa in pristine condition.

HOW DO I KEEP SPA RUNNING COSTS LOW?

The running cost for a spa depends on the type of spa and its usage. Energy costs can be kept low by minimising the features and functions of the spa when not in use. The cost of chemicals can be minimised simply by always using them to keep the pool clean. Cleaning an incredibly dirty spa will end up costing you more money than if it was just looked after in the first place. For accurate running costs talk to a Blue Haven expert.

HOW LONG DO SPAS LAST?

The lifetime of your spa depends on its quality and how well it’s maintained. For a high-quality spa built with better materials, you should expect a lifetime of more than 20 years. For a vinyl ester resin spa this may only be between 5 – 10 years. How well you maintain your spa will also determine its lifetime. A spa exposed to the elements and harmful or corrosive water is likely to have its usability cut short.

WHEN SHOULD I REPLACE THE WATER IN MY SPA?

The decision to change your spas water should be based on its usage. On average, a spa owner should replace the water every 3 – 4 months. But, if you use your spa frequently than we’d recommend you change the water earlier. The use of chemicals and the success of filtration and sanitation should influence the amount of times you replace spa water in a year.

WHERE SHOULD I PUT MY SPA?

There are a few things you should consider when choosing a place in your home to put your spa. A spa installation has to be done in compliance with Australian Building Standards. This involves putting the spa on a level surface so that it’s unable to rock or tilt. There must also be adequate access to all sides of the spa so that it can be serviced and looked after properly. This includes room to access the control panel and reach pumps or the filtration system. The noise generated by circulation pumps also shouldn’t reach a particular level (All Blue Have spas circulation pumps comply with noise restrictions).

HOW DO I GET MY SPA?

Once you have consulted with a Blue Haven expert and decided on the type and design of your spa, we will bring them spa to your home and install it. We have installed a variety of spas in many different locations. We can work through almost any site restrictions you might have so that you can enjoy a Blue Haven Spa.
